Zheyuan Cheng, PhD, Principal Advisor, Manager of Advanced Automation and Protection, received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2020 and his BEng in Electrical Engineering from the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2015. He specializes in power system data analytics, real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, and protection and control of inverter-based resources (IBRs).

Since joining Danovo Energy Solutions in 2020, Dr. Cheng has served as a technical lead and principal contributor on numerous government- and utility-funded projects focused on IBR modeling, electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies, and protection and control validation using HIL platforms. His project leadership and technical contributions span initiatives exceeding $10M in total funded value, supporting the reliable integration of inverter-based resources into modern power systems.
