Xavier Francia
Xavier Francia is a Senior Principal Technical Leader for Cybersecurity in Energy Delivery at EPRI, where he leads and oversees the institute's research portfolio on Cybersecurity for DER Integration. His work addresses emerging cyber risks at the intersection of grid modernization, operational technology (OT), and rapidly evolving DER ecosystems, including electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) integration, microgrids, AMI 2.0, inverter technologies, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Xavier has contributed key standards, including IEEE 1547, helping to shape cybersecurity considerations within industry frameworks and guides. He is also the author of EPRI's Cyber Security Guide for DER Technical Interconnection and Interoperability Requirements (3002035584), a practical resource for EPRI members navigating the cybersecurity landscape of DER deployments.
