Tim Gubitz

Tim leads the NCEC DER PM and Engineering teams that direct and oversee the design, construction, commissioning, and operational support of North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives DER Fleet. This includes 5 diverse microgrids, 13 solar + storage sites, and 17 substation collocated battery energy storage systems. Tim has 15 years of utility design experience including the design of nuclear plants, transmission systems, distribution systems, and microgrids. He has a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina.
