Thomas is a Senior Manager of Grid Operations Technology at Duke Energy where he leads a staff of operational technology professionals accountable for both ongoing support and full project delivery of Duke Energy Critical Process Control and Energy Management Systems in the transmission department for the Bulk Electric System in the Florida jurisdiction. He has 36 years of experience in the electric utility industry, with previous assignments in Demand Response Operations, Solar Project Development, Generator Interconnections, Power Systems Operations, Nuclear Operations and Maintenance, and Substation Construction. He served for six years in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program. Thomas is a Certified System Operator with the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) through the Association of Energy Engineers. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and an MBA from the University of South Florida. '
