After obtaining a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Tanner began his career in the railroad industry where he was responsible for rail testing compliance, strategy, and reporting. Using his skills in automation and change management, Tanner transitioned to the utility industry as an engineer within transmission. In his current role, he supports a variety of initiatives in different business units around process improvement, custom analyses, and compliance.
