Steven Prsha
Steven J. Prsha is the Distributed Energy Resources Manager at SDG&E, where he leads efforts to modernize the grid by incorporating both renewable and conventional technologies, including distributed energy resources (DER), microgrid controls, and other evolving solutions. Since joining SDG&E in 2012, he has held roles across engineering, planning, and operations, and played a pivotal role in developing the utility’s original DERMS and commissioning California’s first dual-purpose vanadium redox flow battery, which provides both grid reliability and CAISO market services. Steven has led initiatives under the Microgrid Incentive Program (MIP), Portable Generator Program, Wildfire Mitigation Program WMP Microgrids, Hydrogen Energy Storage, Microgrid OIR, EPIC, and FERC 881, while contributing to regulatory efforts and industry standards. He is alicensed profession engineer (PE) and holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University and an MBA from the University of Arizona Global Campus.
