Steve Gupman serves as Global Director of Energy and Grid Services at Caterpillar Inc., a position he has held since January 2025. In this role, he leads strategic initiatives in energy solutions and grid infrastructure, leveraging extensive experience in delivering innovative technologies and economic value to customers. 

Previously, as Senior Manager of Energy Transitions & Grid Connection Solutions, Gupman drove commercial product development across electrification technologies, including control systems, battery storage, fuel cells, and hydrogen infrastructure. His career spans multiple years in power-systems development, where he successfully commercialized advanced engine technologies – from low-emissions diesel to dual-fuel systems and their integrated control platforms. 

His international experience includes four years as Engineering Manager for Gas Genset Performance and Control Systems at Caterpillar's Mannheim, Germany facility. Gupman holds a B.S in Mechnical Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Purdue University.
