Senior OT Cybersecurity Consultant, Hitachi Energy

Stephen Trachian is an application engineer with more than 25 years of
experience in protection and control, substation automation,
networking, and cybersecurity. His career spans both utility
operations—where he supported transmission‑level systems—and the
automation and communications sector for a major equipment and
software manufacturer.

In his current role, Stephen oversees the implementation and
governance of cybersecurity controls for Hitachi Energy’s substation
projects across North America. He also contributes to industry
standards development as an active member of ISA99 Working Group 14,
focused on ISA/IEC 62443 security profiles for electric‑sector OT
control systems.
