Sean Redding
Sean Redding is Director of Vegetation Management at Eversource Energy, where he leads the utility vegetation management program. He oversees a $225 million program across more than 40,000 miles of overhead transmission and distribution lines, ensuring electric reliability in three of the nation’s most heavily tree-covered states.
With over 30 years of experience in arboriculture and utility vegetation management, Mr. Redding began his career as a consulting arborist conducting pre- and post-work inspections for multiple utilities. He later served as Senior Arborist at Florida Power & Light, where he managed vegetation challenges unique to South Florida’s palm trees and tropical storm environment. For the past two decades, he has advanced through Eversource in roles ranging from Arborist to Analyst, Supervisor, Manager, and now Director, reflecting his deep expertise and leadership in the field.
Mr. Redding holds a Bachelor of Science in Resources Management from the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. He is an active leader in the arboricultural community, serving as Vice President of the New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and as a board member of the Connecticut Tree Protective Association (CTPA). He is a strong advocate for balanced vegetation management practices that both preserve ecological value and safeguard critical utility infrastructure.
