Dr. Santosh Veda is the Manager (DERMS) in Electric Distribution Grid Solutions at Dominion Energy Virginia. In his current role, he leads a team to deploy and integrate a full-scale Distributed Energy Resources Management System (DERMS) and supports regulatory filings. In his previous role as Group Manager at NREL, he led a group of 21 engineers for integrating hydrogen-based systems like electrolyzers and fuel cells, grid impacts and control of electric vehicles, modernizing utility control centers with data-driven controls and advanced platforms (like the ADMS). He graduated from Virginia Tech with a PhD in Electrical Engineering focusing on Power Systems Stability Analysis, Wide Area Monitoring & Control and Power System Protection. He has five awarded patents and multiple publications in prestigious journals and conferences.
