Russel Like is a Senior Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), where he focuses on cost-benefit analysis and economic evaluation of grid modernization investments, including utility telecommunications transitions. He contributes to EPRI’s Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Integration program, supporting utilities in assessing the operational and financial impacts of evolving grid technologies.
Russel specializes in the valuation of resilience and leads EPRI’s Value of Resilience Working Group (VRWG), which develops metrics, tools, and frameworks to quantify resilience and inform investment decisions. His work spans a wide range of applications, including flexible interconnection, infrastructure lifecycle analysis, and emerging grid technologies. He has extensive experience in energy markets, regulation, and policy, and was closely involved in the deregulation of New Jersey’s generation sector. Prior to joining EPRI, Russel worked at the New Jersey Energy Resilience Bank, which finances resilient distributed energy projects for critical infrastructure.
