Ron is the President and COO of the DNP Users Group and Principal Consultant with Mount Victoria Consulting. He has over 30 years of experience in transmission and distribution automation technologies and standards with a focus on data communications, intelligent devices, gateways, synchrophasor measurement, precision time, and equipment-condition monitoring. As a consultant, Ron has served many utilities and a large electric power research organization by assessing and planning a wide range of substation automation technologies. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, Chairs two PES working groups (including the group that developed the award-winning IEEE Std 1815.1 for mapping between DNP3 and IEC 61850), was past Technical Champion of NIST SGIP Priority Action Plans, and serves on the Advisory Committee for DistribuTECH.
