 Ron Utterbeck is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Eversource. He oversees Information Technology (IT) across all areas of the company, including cyber security, system resiliency, technology planning, process optimization, and ensuring full regulatory compliance of IT systems. 

Before joining Eversource, Utterbeck served as Senior Vice President, Enterprise Architecture and Emerging Technologies at The Hartford. In his role, he evaluated emerging technologies and was accountable for ensuring that enterprise-wide architecture leveraged the proper technology to achieve The Hartford’s business strategies. 

At The Hartford, he also served as CIO – Personal Lines, Enterprise Agile Transformation, Quality and Billing. He was responsible for developing and executing the technology strategy for all aspects of the Personal Lines insurance business as well as for Technology Quality and Billing. 

In his prior career at General Electric, Utterbeck served as CIO – Corporate, and as Director of the Michigan Technology Center. He facilitated building a world-class technology center, which provides services to all GE businesses. His experience includes over a decade serving as CIO and chief technology officer for several of General Electric’s lines of business in the United States and China. 

He proudly serves on the boards of The Bushnell and ReadyCT. He is an active committee member of Million Women Mentoring and serves on the Central Connecticut State University Industry Advisory Board. 

Utterbeck earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science at The Ohio State University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Hartford.
