Rob Brewer is President & CEO of PUC Services Inc., which manages electric and water distribution systems within Sault Ste. Marie, and throughout Ontario. Rob’s extensive leadership and business experience has been instrumental in helping to build a culture of innovation within PUC, benefiting both customers and shareholders. Since joining PUC in 2018, Rob, along with his dynamic team, have introduced a range of programs and new businesses that have helped to achieve PUC’s vision to be a sustainable organization and an industry leader. In just five short years, the PUC Group of Companies has expanded its footprint to include all of Ontario, has increased its enterprise value by more than 40 per cent, and has become a national leader in grid modernization via the Sault Smart Grid. Once operational this year, the Sault Smart Grid will become the first community-wide smart grid in Canada and transform the way we think about the distribution of electricity. Customers will experience increased reliability, average energy savings of about 2.7 per cent, and a community-wide reduction in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Several other key programs introduced under Rob’s leadership also include the launch of a new company Watertight Lining Solutions Inc. that utilizes robotic technology to extend the life of water pipes at a reduced cost and the introduction of PUC Transmission, a partnership with Algoma Steel Inc. that will support their transition to electric ARC steelmaking. Before joining PUC, Rob was founder and CEO of a vegetation management company that he grew into a successful business with 165 staff throughout North America.
