Omar Mohamed is a Senior Manager of System Operations with over 14 years of experience in electrical grid operations, control room leadership, and utility modernization. Throughout his career at Hydro One, he has progressed from frontline Grid Operations Controller to Distribution System Operator, Supervisor, Manager, and now Senior Manager, providing him with a unique perspective across all levels of system operations.

Omar has extensive experience leading teams through complex system events, emergency restoration efforts, and operational transformation initiatives. He is passionate about advancing control room capabilities through the integration of modern technologies, including ADMS, OMS, AMI, and distributed energy resource management solutions. His work focuses on enhancing grid reliability, operational resilience, and workforce readiness while supporting the transition to a more intelligent and decentralized energy system.
