Mustapha Chawqui is a licensed Professional Engineer P. Eng and Senior IEEE''member with over a decade of experience in power systems and electrical planning and design.''As Lead Engineer for Substation Engineering and Design, he led''strategic initiatives enabling energy transition and building the network of the future. He was the Technical lead on the first digital substation in NE built to IEC 61850 and the first in NE hybrid station using both IEC and conventional relaying and control. Mustapha was also the technical lead on GIS station using the three in one bus configuration and led the team under an EPC contract to a successful project completion. His work supports the development of resilient, efficient, and future-ready infrastructure across Massachusetts and beyond. Mustapha''holds both a bachelor'''s degree in electrical engineering from Lakehead University in Canada and master'''s degree in power systems from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Additionally, he is a certified asset manager, bringing a comprehensive perspective to utility modernization that bridges engineering, operations, and long-term asset strategy.
