Mike MacMillan
I am an energy industry professional with experience in infrastructure asset management, electric transmission and distribution, nuclear power generation, as well as upstream and downstream petroleum operations. I am currently the Asset Management TD&D Reliability Lead with Nova Scotia Power Inc. (NSPI) working to develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive asset management strategies across the utility since 2014.
Key responsibilities of this role include managing overall reliability analysis and reporting for the NS Power's T&D system, supporting development of asset management strategies for Transmission, Distribution, and Substation assets, identification and prioritization of effective capital investments, as well as severe weather prediction and response planning.
In 2014 I graduated with a Masters of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology in Lausanne and Zurich where I submitted my thesis titled "A Comparison Between Dynamic PSA Approaches for Integral Treatment of Uncertainties". Previously, I obtained undergraduate degrees with distinction in both Physics (2009) and Chemical Engineering (2012) from Dalhousie University in Halifax.
