Miguel Hernandez is a Technical Leader at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), where he leads research and development efforts focused on modernizing electric distribution system planning and operations. With over 13 years of experience in the field, Miguel has contributed to the advancement of distribution automation, large-scale system modeling, and the integration of distributed energy resources. He helps utilities enhance grid reliability, resilience, and operational efficiency by developing and validating advanced tools and methodologies. Miguel holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and has served as a research scholar and lecturer, bringing both technical depth and a collaborative approach to industry engagement. His current efforts focus on bridging the gap between emerging operational technologies and their practical use in control room environments.
