
Maria Pope
Maria Pope is president and CEO of Portland General Electric (PGE), where she leads efforts to deliver safe, reliable, and affordable energy to Oregonians. Under her leadership, PGE has accelerated the transition to a clean energy future through the addition of wind, solar, and battery storage resources, integration of advanced grid technologies, and deep collaboration with customers, communities, and policymakers. Since joining PGE in 2009 as CFO and treasurer, Pope has also served as senior vice president of Power Supply, Operations, and Resource Strategy. Previously, she was CFO of Mentor Graphics and held leadership roles in the technology, forest products, and consumer goods sectors after starting her career at Morgan Stanley. She brings more than two decades of board experience, currently serving as board chair of Columbia Banking System, Inc. and chair of the Edison Electric Institute, and previously served on the U.S. Secretary of Energy Advisory Board and as chair of the Electric Power Research Institute. Pope holds degrees from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Georgetown University.
