Mahesh Sudhakaran serves as General Manager for GE Vernova's Grid Software Business Unit, where he leads the industry's largest Software and Services portfolio for Transmission, Distribution, DERMS, and Electricity Markets. His expertise lies in the software-led business transformation and strategic acceleration of grid modernization and energy transition, achieved through mission-critical software, applied AI technologies, and expert services to orchestrate conventional and sustainable electricity.

Prior to his role at GE Vernova, Mahesh held pivotal product and commercial leadership positions at IBM and Schneider Electric. During his tenure at IBM, he led the software and services turnaround of the multi-billion-dollar energy portfolio, encompassing the utilities and oil & gas industries. He helped build IBM’s sustainability business, driving growth and transformation in the energy sector with software-driven solutions.

Mahesh Sudhakaran is a distinguished thought leader in sustainability, electrification, and applied AI. His contributions to the field have earned him the prestigious title of Fellow of the Energy Institute, and he is an active member of the Forbes Technology Council. Beyond this, Mahesh is dedicated to shaping the global energy transition and serves on the US GridWise Infrastructure Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for GridWise.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the National Institute of Technology, India, and an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
