Larry Bekkedahl

SVP, Energy Delivery, Portland General Electric
I lead Portland General Electric’s strategy to build the grid of the future — one that is resilient, smart and creates a #CleanEnergyFuture. My team is responsible for initiatives related to system integration and operations, smart cities, distributed energy resources, energy storage, dispatchable standby generation, transmission system performance and market interfaces, as well as research and development. I have more than three decades experience in leadership roles at PGE, the Bonneville Power Administration, Clark Public Utilities, PacifiCorp and Montana Power Company, but I can’t recall a more exciting time to be in the energy field. I’m proud to be part of PGE, which is helping Oregon and our customers go #FullCleanAhead to a brighter energy future. As an alumnus of the electrical engineering program at Montana State University, I have a lifelong passion for new electric technologies that help build resiliency, capacity and efficiency in our energy world. I’m a member of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Research Advisory Committee, the Stanford University Bits & Watts Advisory Council and the University of Akron Energy Advisory Committee.
