Keith Hemingway
Keith is a dynamic leader with over 20 years of experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams in implementing technologies that drive growth and increase efficiency. At the Alectra GRE&T Centre, Keith leads a team of brilliant engineers who are passionate about finding innovative ways to solve complex challenges facing the energy system in transition and to identify opportunities for Alectra to reduce cost, improve service and increase reliability.
Before joining the Alectra GRE&T Centre, Keith was involved in operations within Alectra. He was the lead technical manager for Alectra’s SCADA consolidation project, which merged five utility control systems into one platform. Keith has installed and maintained all aspects of the distribution grid from roadside switches to large transformer stations, and local wireless networks to Alectra’s Operational Technology wide area Ethernet network. Keith has a deep understanding of emerging technologies (such as AI, blockchain, IoT and grid-edge resources) that will drive transformation in the energy sector.
Keith is a graduate of Mohawk College in Electrical Control Engineering Technology; he is a certified engineering technologist through The Ontario Association of Engineering Technicians and Technologists and is Vice-Chair of Electricity Canada’s Operating Technology and Telecomm Committee.
