José Medina is an accomplished technology leader with over 25 years of experience driving digital transformation through artificial intelligence, data science, and emerging technologies.

He currently serves as Senior Director at NextEra Analytics, where he helps scale NextEra’s AI and analytics strategy across Distribution, Transmission, Nuclear, Power Generation, and Customer Service. Over his 17 years at NextEra, he has held multiple strategic roles, including leading Power Generation’s Renewable Energy Innovation Center of Excellence, Information Technology’s AI Hub, and key functions spanning power delivery operations, marketing, regulatory affairs, finance, and enterprise strategy. Prior to NextEra, he led global initiatives in analytics and digital transformation at Motorola.

José is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds an MBA from DePaul University, an Applied Data Science certification from MIT, and a BS in Finance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Outside of work, José enjoys spending time with his wife, Sara, and their two sons, Luis and Noah, and is an avid surfer—always eager to catch the next wave, in technology or the ocean.
