John Lee
John Y. Lee is the lead architect for Grid Modernization Engineering and Planning (E&P) at Southern California Edison (SCE). He leads a team of solution and project architects for different workstreams. John was instrumental in coming up with the architecture design vision for SCE Grid Modernization E&P, which is, optimization through cloud native, open-source based design and consolidation of multiple disparate applications on different platforms with separate user interfaces into one unified platform and a single uniform user interface to achieve design simplification, application rationalization, performance, scalability, interoperability, reliability, and ultimately, operational excellence. The realization of the architecture design vision was System Planning Evaluation & Execution Dashboard (SPEED), which in 2025 won SCE Ted Craver Leadership in Business Innovation Award and Public Utilities Fortnightly Top Innovators Award – Francis Upton Top Innovator in Analytics for Utility Service, and was among the finalists of Gartner Eye on Innovation Award. John is a TOGAF9 Certified (from The Open Group) enterprise architect.
