John Whitchurch is a Senior Program Manager at Cascade Energy, where he has spent more than 17 years designing and leading a wide range of demand-side management programs for utilities. He currently manages Cascade’s Northern California DSM portfolio, partnering with utilities to deliver impactful energy initiatives for industrial, large commercial, and agricultural customers.

Before entering the energy efficiency sector, John served six years in the U.S. Navy as a submariner, gaining hands-on technical experience and a strong appreciation for mission‑driven teamwork. Following his military service, he worked for two years at a major food processing company, further expanding his understanding of industrial systems and operations.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Idaho and has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 2013. His career blends practical engineering expertise and a deep commitment to energy efficiency and demand management, driven by a passion for helping organizations use energy more wisely.
