James Playford
James Playford is Chief Operating Officer of CRWN.ai, a venture-stage company developing frequency-based predictive technology for critical transmission infrastructure. His remit spans operational design, commercial readiness, and the work of moving the technology from single-line trials into scaled deployment with utility partners.
James brings more than a decade of senior operating experience across Canada, where he led teams of 2,000+ employees and drove scale, organisational change, and operational excellence while substantially improving financial performance. He is also an Executive Coach and Strategic Advisor to dozens of founders and CEOs through Playford Performance Group, the advisory firm where he serves as Principal, and as Forum Chair for two MacKay CEO Forums.
He is based in Kelowna, British Columbia.
