Dr. Huimin Li is Manager of Energy Storage Engineering at Duke Energy, where she leads the team responsible for developing and deploying battery energy storage projects across Duke Energy's service territories for both transmission- and distribution-connected applications. Her team supports one of the largest utility-scale energy storage portfolios in the United States, with approximately 7 GW of planned projects by 2035 and a long-term roadmap approaching 30 GW by 2050. Huimin's work spans the full project lifecycle, including project origination, feasibility assessments, technology evaluation, interconnection support, EPC contracting, supplier qualification, execution, and commissioning. Through her leadership of a diverse portfolio of utility-scale storage projects, she has played a key role in shaping how one of the nation's largest electric utilities evaluates, deploys, and integrates energy storage to meet evolving grid reliability, resiliency, and decarbonization objectives. Huimin holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina and brings more than 20 years of experience in the power and energy industry. Prior to joining Duke Energy, she held technical leadership roles at ABB Consulting and GE Global Research, where she focused on renewable energy and power system technologies.
