Helen Platis
Helen Platis is Executive in Residence at Foresight Canada. She has spent [30+] years in strategy and operations across the energy sector, including Ontario Hydro, Union Gas, and Direct Energy, where she was Vice President of Operations for Canada. She serves on the board of an Ontario electricity distribution utility, has chaired Canadian Standards Association technical committees, and has contributed to the Smart Grid Forum. Her work focuses on the data governance, privacy, and integration questions utilities face when adopting smart grid technologies, including distributed energy resources and AI. On this panel she speaks to what happens once continuous line-monitoring data starts flowing: who owns it, how it is governed and validated, and what it takes to fold new sensing into established utility operations.
