Derek Burns has been with LCRA in Austin, Texas for 10 years and serves as SOCC Systems Compliance Program Manager and Supervisor over the Substation Wide Area Network group, responsible for compliance with standards and regulations for LCRA's medium-impact systems. He previously served as EMS/Control System Administrator (compliance coordination, IP management, and remote access to LCRA BES Cyber Assets), was Substation SME lead during LCRA's 2019 NERC audit, and worked as a SCADA technician commissioning and configuring RTUs.
