Dale Player
Dale Player is the VP of Engineering & Smart Grid at ComEd. This role has responsibility over Distribution Engineering, Distribution Planning, Smart Grid Engineering, Grid Analytics, and Grid Communication programs.
In his 20 years at ComEd, Dale has held multiple positions across the company and has led several strategic initiatives in efforts to increase reliability, resiliency, and flexibility of the electrical grid at ComEd to better serve the needs of our customers. These initiatives include leading the creations of the ComEd Long Range Strategy, building the business case justification for the expansion of a fiber optic and PLTE communication network to support grid assets, advanced analytics programs, and analyzing the grid infrastructure needs for the next generation investment portfolios.
Dale is an advocate for clean energy and is actively engaged with his team in creating grid enabling solutions that will advance energy solutions at ComEd and across the industry.
Dale is a value-oriented leader that focuses on development of personnel, enhancing the grid, and serving the customer.
Dale earned both his Bachelor and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Illinois. Dale is a licensed Illinois Professional Engineer.
