Collin Estes
Collin Estes is the Chief Information Officer for MRI Technologies, a small woman-owned business focused primarily on supporting NASA out of Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. Collin first joined MRI and NASA in 2009, serving as a web developer supporting NASA's spacesuit program. In 2017, Collin authored an innovation grant proposal for a Zero-Trust, DevSecOps Kubernetes-centric application hosting platform: AppDat. AppDat has since grown from that proposal and prototype, to an Agency-wide cloud computing platform, supporting over 20 mission and mission support organizations from across multiple NASA centers. After a brief stop supporting NASA’s Science and Technical Information program, to architect and implement NASA’s preeminent public science search engine (NTRS.nasa.gov); Collin is now serving as the Chief Architect of NASA’s Luna Project, a cloud-native data, AI, and simulation platform focused on building digital twins and automation systems in support of NASA’s return to the moon.
