Coley leads Energy Markets and Strategy for Rivian's Advanced Energy Solutions Team, where he focus on utility strategy, energy policy, and vehicle-grid integration — working to accelerate grid transformation toward a more affordable, reliable, and clean energy future for Rivian and its customers.

His work sits at the intersection of how energy is priced, delivered, and made flexible — from regulatory and rate design strategy to grid services programs across home and commercial charging. He is particularly interested in how utility business models need to evolve as EVs, distributed energy resources, and bidirectional charging reshape the grid's economics.

Before this role, he managed utility and public charging programs at Rivian, driving participation in utility incentive and grid services programs and supporting strategic network site selection. Prior to Rivian, he was a Principal at Advanced Energy Economy (now Advanced Energy United), focused on regulatory policy, utility business model reform, and market analysis. Earlier, he co-founded Footprint Free LLC, a sustainability startup helping businesses reduce their carbon footprint through offsets and energy efficiency recommendations.

He holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame, with a major in Finance, minors in Mandarin Chinese and Sustainability, and a concentration in International Business.
