Chima Chijioke
Chimaobi Chijioke serves as the Vice President of Customer Services at Georgia Power, where he leads a dynamic organization dedicated to delivering award-winning customer value, convenient service, and personalized solutions. Under his leadership, the Customer Services team oversees a wide array of functions including call center operations, digital customer engagement, energy assistance, and customer billing. Chimaobi also spearheads the team responsible for managing relationships with Georgia Power's largest customers, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
Before his current role at Georgia Power, Chimaobi was the Vice President of Customer Operations at Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE). In this capacity, he directed strategy, resources, and activities for Customer Care, Claims, and Field and Meter Services. His tenure at BGE also included his role as Director of Customer Care, where he led a team of over 200 employees dedicated to resolving customer issues and enhancing customer interactions for residential and small business clients.
Chimaobi's extensive experience in customer service and operations includes his role as Manager of Large Customer Services at BGE, where he oversaw all Large Corporate accounts.
Additionally, he served as Corporate Functional Area Manager for Exelon, focusing on identifying and adopting best practices across Exelon's utility fleet and developing strategic programs to advance the Customer Operations division. His career also includes a pivotal role as Manager of the Customer Care team during BGE's transition to a new Customer Care and Billing system (CC&B).
Prior to his tenure with Exelon, Chimaobi was the Associate Director for Customer Care at Verizon Wireless, and he has held several leadership positions in quality assurance and the hospitality industry.
Chimaobi's educational background is as diverse as his professional experience. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He has further honed his leadership skills through executive programs at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Columbia Business School and Harvard Business School.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Chimaobi has been actively involved in community service. While residing in Maryland, he served as Treasurer on the board of Camp Attaway, a nonprofit organization providing summer camps for children with autism, and as a board member for Leadership Howard County. Chimaobi is an active board member of the Metro Atlanta Salvation Army and Utility 2030.
Outside of his professional life, Chimaobi enjoys spending quality time with his wife and their three children. His commitment to both his family and his career exemplifies his dedication to excellence in all areas of life.
