Bryan Rask is a Network Engineering Manager at Avista Utilities, where he leads the delivery and evolution of mission-critical communications networks that support reliable electric and gas operations across the Pacific Northwest. In his role, Bryan is responsible for advancing utility communications infrastructure, enabling secure, scalable connectivity for grid operations, and supporting the integration of modern technologies across Avista’s service territory.

With more than two decades of experience in telecommunications and network operations, Bryan brings deep technical and operational expertise to the energy sector. Prior to joining Avista in 2021, he spent nearly 16 years at CenturyLink, where he held multiple roles including Supervisor of Regional Operations and Network Technician, overseeing large-scale network performance, field operations, and service delivery. Earlier in his career, he served as a Lead Technician at West Connect Communications, building a strong foundation in network deployment and maintenance. 

Bryan’s work focuses on bridging traditional telecom and modern utility needs, including private communications networks, grid modernization, and operational resilience. He brings a practical, field-informed perspective to industry discussions, helping utilities navigate the growing complexity of communications systems required to support advanced grid technologies, cybersecurity, and distributed energy resources.
