Bryan Ferguson, a native of Georgia, has over 30 years of electric utility experience. As President & CEO of Habersham EMC, Bryan leads an organization covering six Northeast Georgia Counties, consisting of 115 Employees, 40,000 Electric Meters and approximately 4,000 miles of distribution line. In addition, Bryan serves as CEO of Trailwave Fiber Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Habersham EMC, providing fiber optic broadband services to over 17,000 Northeast Georgia Businesses, Schools, Churches and Homes. The robust fiber network also provides grid connectivity and SCADA communications to Habersham EMC’s 19 substations and all associated distribution smart grid devices.

Bryan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining Habersham EMC in September of 2020, Bryan worked for Southern Company for 25 years as an engineer and manager. Bryan spent 22 years at Georgia Power, where he was statewide manager of Distribution Reliability, Distribution Automation and Distributed Energy Resources. He then spent 3 years at Alabama Power managing distribution and transmission substation protection and control. Bryan has held numerous Engineering and Operations leadership positions, in both Transmission and Distribution, over his career. Bryan has a strong track record of achieving strategic company goals and managing resources to ensure organizational success.

Bryan, his wife Wendy, and teenage daughter Anna live in Clarkesville, Georgia. The couple also has three adult children and 8 grandchildren. In his spare time, Bryan is an avid Mountain Biker and Golfer.
