Brita Osmundsvaag Formato is President of Heimdall Power, where she leads the company’s North American operations. With a career spanning over two decades in the energy sector, Brita brings a unique blend of strategic vision and operational expertise to the industry’s efforts to modernize and optimize the global power grid infrastructure.

Prior to joining Heimdall Power in 2024, Brita served as CEO of T-Omega Wind Inc., where she spearheaded the development of floating offshore wind technology and launched the company’s first test turbine off the coast of Massachusetts. 

Previously, Brita spent more than 16 years at Duke Energy Corporation, holding executive roles in corporate development, strategy, and risk management across both U.S. and international operations. She led Duke’s expansion into electric vehicles and the utility’s first acquisition of a major renewable energy portfolio. 

Brita’s global energy perspective was honed through roles at ExxonMobil, Equinor, and Mercer Management Consulting, where she focused on downstream operations, petroleum market analysis, and energy strategy. 

Brita serves on the board of Hurtigbaat AS, a Norwegian highspeed passenger ferry company, and is the co-founder of the Charlotte Women’s Leadership Forum. She holds an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Eckerd College.
