Brian Chen is vice president of Project & Field Engineering at Southern California Edison. In this role, Chen leads engineering projects associated with all distribution, substation and transmission replacements, upgrades and expansions. He also oversees SCE’s transmission and distribution capital portfolio management and interconnection processes.  Prior to his current role he has served in a variety of roles in strategic planning, performance management, and asset management functions.  He has also led SCE’s initial enterprise-wide coordination efforts related to wildfire mitigation and COVID-19 response.  Prior to joining Edison, he was a partner with an investigative engineering consulting firm in Texas.  Brian holds a B.S. from Purdue University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.  He received his M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson Graduate School of Management.
