Brian Bassett helps the energy industry move faster. As Director of Business Development at Simple Thread, he’s helped grow the business 15X in 8 years by focusing on the complex software needs of utilities and renewable developers. Brian serves on the Board of Directors for RVATech and co-founded Energy Tech Virginia to foster a local ecosystem for grid modernization. He also currently serves on the DTECH 2026 and DTECH Data Centers & AI 2026 committees. In 2025, he founded Faraday Ventures, a VC fund dedicated to building the tools needed for a modern grid. Brian received the RVA Tech Chairman’s Award in 2024 and lives with his family in Bon Air.
