Brenden Russell is the Director of Grid Innovation at Southern California Edison and oversees the AMI 2.0 program and Grid Innovation & Strategy function. He has over 20 years of utility industry experience. In his tenure at SCE, Brenden has served in multiple leadership roles including overseeing the Technology & Business Strategy function, SCE’s Grid Modernization program and has filled engineering and managerial roles in support of advancing SCE’s real time grid operations -  championing the operationalization of new grid technologies in support of SCE’s long-term net zero vision.

Brenden graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineer with specialization in Power Systems. He is currently a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California and a graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
