Bill Peter

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E)
Bill Peter is the Senior Manager of the Electric Planning Policy & Modernization team at PG&E, where he leads the strategic development and modernization of planning tools to support a highly electrified future. Since joining PG&E in 2014, he has held diverse roles across Asset Planning, Grid Innovation, Energy Procurement, and Policy. He has driven innovative planning processes for integrating distributed energy resources and enhancing visibility into the delivery of capacity for customers. Before PG&E, Bill worked in solar and storage development at SunPower and E.ON, and with Australia’s Independent System Operator. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from San Francisco State University.
