Benjamin Lee is a results-driven leader with 15 years of experience in the electric utility sector, including over a decade in key leadership roles. Currently serving as the Director of Grid Modernization at Electric Power Engineers (EPE), Ben leverages his deep technical expertise and leadership acumen to equip utilities to meet the challenges of decarbonization and increasing grid complexity with strategic and forward-thinking approaches. Prior to coming to EPE, Ben spent over 13 years working at Southern California Edison where he held leadership roles in Distribution System Planning, Grid Modernization, and Integrated System Planning—experiences that shaped his perspective on what it takes to transition from traditional planning to a more dynamic, customer- and DER-driven grid.Ben is a licensed Professional Engineer and an active member of the IEEE Modern and Future Distribution Planning Working Group, where he contributes to the development of industry-aligned practices for planning, operating, and enabling the DSO transition.
