Benjamin Lee
enjamin Lee is a results-driven leader with 17 years of experience in the electric utility sector, including over a decade in key leadership roles. Currently serving as the Vice President of Distribution Planning & Grid Modernization at Electric Power Engineers (EPE), Ben leverages his deep technical expertise and leadership acumen to help utilities navigate the energy transition by developing strategic roadmaps, performing data analytics to develop load and DER forecast, performing system studies, and identifying traditional and non-wires grid solutions. His work focuses on equipping utilities to meet the challenges of decarbonization and increasing grid complexity with strategic and forward-thinking approaches.
Prior to coming to EPE, Ben spent over 13 years working at Southern California Edison where he held various engineering and leadership roles within Distribution System Planning, Grid Modernization, and Integrated System Planning.
Throughout his career, Benjamin has distinguished himself as a strategic thinker, adept at developing long-term visions and guiding teams to execute ambitious yet achievable roadmap. He combines his foundation as a trained engineer with his extensive leadership experience to bridge the gap between technical initiatives and overarching strategic objectives seamlessly. He combines a passion for grid innovation with a focus on organizational excellence, delivering solutions that drive sustainable growth and position the energy industry for long-term success.
Ben is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from California Baptist University. He is also an active member of the IEEE Modern and Future Distribution Planning Working Group, contributing to advancing industry best practices and shaping the future of energy systems.
