Alexis Alexander
Alexis Alexander started with the company in 2007 as a Demand Side Management (DSM) Student Engineer. In 2008, he was hired into the Engineering Rotational Program, gaining broad exposure to utility operations as a Power Plant Controls and Automation Engineer. His strong technical foundation and leadership potential led to a series of management roles, including Plant Operations Manager and Construction and Maintenance Manager.
Alexis continued to expand his impact across Avista’s energy operations, eventually serving as Director of Generation Production and Substation Support, where he led teams responsible for reliable power generation and delivery across the service territory. In 2023, he made a transition over to technology leadership as the Director of IT Infrastructure. Most recently, he was named Director of Applications, where his responsibilities expanded into the Fusion divisional support teams for Energy Delivery, Energy Resources, Customer Solutions, and Business Enablement.
Throughout his career, Alexis has demonstrated a commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. His unique blend of engineering, operations, and technology leadership supports Avista’s mission to deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable energy.
Alexis holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Eastern Washington University.
Alexis is deeply involved in his community, which is reflected in his passion for education, youth development, and regional vitality. He currently serves as a Board of Trustees member for Eastern Washington University, a school board member for the Medical Lake School District, and a board member for Spokane Sports.
