Paul Gerke
An experienced, dynamic, charismatic communications professional and a four-time Emmy-winning journalist, featured in Variety, married in The New York Times, and 'fired' in The Post.
I am currently the content director of the power industry publication Factor This, the digital masthead of legacy magazines Renewable Energy World, POWERGRID International, and Hydro Review. I run the site's day-to-day operations and serve as its lead writer, conducting B2B journalism and penning premium profiles of energy executives. I assist with my company's flagship T&D event, DISTRIBUTECH. In addition to boasting one of the most active (and I would argue, witty and interesting) bylines in the space, I host podcasts, create live event content, shoot and edit videos, host webinars, write promotional copy, and market our content via social channels.
I consider myself a lifelong storyteller. I spent nearly 15 years in television news as an anchor and sportscaster, crisscrossing the United States and climbing from one of the smallest TV markets to the national news desk. Most recently, I worked as NewsNation's first national correspondent and an anchor at NBC News on "The Report" and "Early Today." I previously produced, wrote, and hosted sports programs for the Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I attended the 2016 and 2018 Olympic Games as a foreign correspondent and earned four Emmy Awards as a news anchor and sports host at KPNX in Phoenix, Arizona. Before that, I was best known for going viral as “Paul Burgundy” during my memorable tenure as sports director at KIVI in Boise, Idaho. I started my on-air career at WBKB in Alpena, MI, after four years in television production at WJRT in Flint.
I am an avid Michigan sports fan and a lifelong gamer. I enjoy learning how things work, telling stories, hitting a parlay or two, and rubbing the belly of my cute golden doodle, Theo.
