Grid University

This Grid University course presents a focused review of five core cybersecurity controls for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) as published by the SANS institute in 2022, namely incident response, defensible architecture, network visibility monitoring, secure remote access, and risk-based vulnerability management.  The course will provide reference to IEC 62443.

Designed for transmission and distribution personnel, the course provides practical guidance for implementing and operationalizing these controls within existing security programs.  Participants will learn how to apply the controls in real-world environments, align them with regulatory and cybersecurity frameworks, and assess current program maturity. The course emphasizes prioritization, enabling attendees to identify where to start and how to sequence improvements based on risk and operational constraints.

Upon completion, participants will have a clear, actionable approach to strengthening cybersecurity posture and advancing the protection of critical infrastructure.
