From Application to Activation: AI-Augmented Interconnection for Superior Customer Experiences
FortisAlberta, a Canadian utility recognized with Electricity Canada’s Centre of Excellence Award for its solar interconnections process solution, will share how it modernized its customer portal and workflow—and how it is now extending that foundation with no-code AI-powered capabilities.
Working with Clean Power Research, FortisAlberta deployed a no-code, configurable solution to digitize and automate their interconnection process. By replacing manual processes with automated validations, rules-driven workflows, centralized data, and improved stakeholder visibility, FortisAlberta reduced interconnection timelines by more than 80% while enhancing transparency, consistency, and customer experience.
The session explores the next phase of that journey—embedding AI directly into operational workflows. Attendees will see how AI augments workflow automation by assisting with time-intensive tasks such as application attachment review—improving speed and consistency while maintaining control through governed, human-in-the-loop processes.
