Duke Energy is facing increasingly challenging problems in our Grid Modernization journey. Challenges span from solving complex network optimizations as we work to harness the power of our distributed resources while managing load growth, to serving an increasing number of end users off the same fundamental data set. Duke Energy is implementing AI solutions to better enable our teams to address these issues. The integration of AI in our toolset enables us to provide superior insights for our business partners that previously were unachievable due to the complexity of the grid while upholding the standards anticipated by our customers.

Duke Energy will share tangible use cases demonstrating how AI supports Grid Modernization initiatives. Attendees will gain insights into their strategies for fostering confidence in AI adoption within the business, demonstrating how AI can augment their business processes, not replacing, but enabling engineers, along with the team highlighting some of the challenges encountered and strategies employed to develop this robust toolset.

Notable use cases include:

  • Employing machine learning to refine models for better planning and operational insights of the future grid.
  • Utilizing generative AI to expedite accurate decision-making processes for the business.
  • Leveraging AI to enable data corrections with 100% certainty
