Join the Simulation: A Discussion Around DOE's Push for Affordable and Usable Simulation Tools

February 04, 2026

The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity is making grid models more accessible through efforts like the Feeder of the Future Prize and the Grid Kitchen grid model library. If every utility could adopt basic simulation capability, then operations, planning, and investment justifications would improve. Simulation tools are available, but usable models for actual systems are often cumbersome and expensive to build and maintain. We are trying to change that.

Join us for a discussion about ongoing endeavors at the Office of Electricity that address our nation’s energy challenges.
