As the utility industry continues to evolve, women have made and continue to make invaluable contributions in the utilities sector. In this session, as women leaders in the utility industry, we will explore strategies to build the talent pipeline in leadership roles.

In 2023, women held 26% of energy jobs, with an even smaller percentage in executive positions. However, data shows that companies with diverse leadership teams outperform their peers by 25% in profitability and 27% in value creation.

This presentation, featuring 4Liberty and Southern California Edison, underscores the business case for attracting and retaining talented women in leadership positions within utilities, highlighting benefits such as enhanced innovation, improved decision-making, and better organizational performance. We will discuss best practices for fostering an inclusive workplace culture.  Additionally, we will share our own personal stories, showcasing our journeys, challenges, and successes.

By understanding the value of diverse leadership perspectives, experiences and skills, the utility sector can pave the way for a more inclusive and prosperous future
