By 2045, California will achieve carbon neutrality, driven by decarbonization across all sectors. To meet this goal, the grid must modernize to fully utilize Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), build resilience against climate impacts, and support increased electrification. Current tools lack the scale and speed needed for optimized planning. Utilities must lead this transition, navigating wildfire risks, evolving technology, rising customer expectations, and complex regulations to achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets.
