There are industry paradigms we all know. Electrification is increasing. Legislation is changing to encourage more renewable integration. Affordability and reliability, as always, are at the heart of this transition. The good news: DERs offer a solution.

They’re already in your networks and more are incoming, so, how can you ensure whole-system value to fully harness their MWs? DERMS and VPPS have made headway in making DERs more accessible to utilities – but a single strategy approach risks leaving some of your DER customers behind.

You need to operationalize flexibility to make it business as usual, with more coordination between all your existing tools, to help flexibility scale.

In this talk, we outline how to:

  • Leverage all DERs as the fastest, lowest cost route to a secure and reliable grid
  • Use flexibility markets to optimize demand response and more
  • Apply learnings from the UK – where a single grid operator has already contracted 5GW of flex in the coming years
